Mexico Update
We had a wonderful five days serving alongside Algo Mas, right across the border from El Paso. They are in Anapra, which is on the outskirts of Juarez, Mexico. Anapra used to be a dump until they covered it up with sand , making it hard to escape both the trash and sand.
Our week was full of ...
-
Sorting through coffee beans so they could be roasted in their cafe and sold
-
Learning jiu-jitsu and speaking about Jesus during their break time
-
Going door-to-door to pray for people and invite them to a youth event that we helped lead
-
Spreading SO much gravel outside of their soccer area so they can host events with a bit less sand everywhere
-
Visiting an orphanage and playing with the children, doing crafts, cleaning their kitchen, and matching lots and lots of socks
-
Leading gymnastics classes and face painting
-
Helping in their "Cafe Americana" during the weekly flea market that sets up right in front of their church.
-
Playing a lot of chess and checkers
Our youth jumped right in, embraced the hard work but also the opportunities to play with the neighborhood kids and the the youth who attended Algo Mas. The highlight of most of their week was playing together under the lights on the turf field till1:30am. They didn't know each other's languages, but they laughed and played. It was beautiful. We saw everyone step out of their comfort zones to pray for people, share about Jesus, and take another step in obedience to love others well - and work really hard.

We look forward to our next trip back and pray that the seeds that were planted will be watered and that the Lord will allow them to produce much fruit.

Thank you all for praying.
